So I recently had an idea for a TF2 zombie film and I'm going to start making it on GMOD on monday. (It's the only thing I can make since the update fucked everything up.)
Anywho I started practicing with source film maker (a new movie making tool on steam in which you can make almost anything as sexy as what valve makes. The perfect tool for fake trailers that lead to Rick Rolls... actually that gives me an idea.)
Anywho I (with little help from tutorials which were over an hour long) made the poster for the film on SFM just to try it out.
anywho here is the end result

The program isn't easy to pick up, but once you do pick it up it's fun and simple to use. I'd say it's much easier to pose, spawn and animate things than in Garry's mod. Though can it beat Garry's mod?
For filming yes... yes I believe this can, only because this is something that is expanding and Gmod no longer has the advantage of having a massive library of mods and addons which can have a massive cast of characters and worlds available at your finger tips.
However, don't forget that Gmod is also a game and will always be used as a game. The fact that people still play Gmod 9 shows that it's fun in some shape or form and therefore it's community will most likely live on. Even if the game isn't used for film making anymore.
